Detailed Itinerary

Day 01 – Arrival Transfer Airport / Pinnawela / Dambulla

Meet & greet services on arrival at the airport by our tour representative and transfer to Dambulla.

En route visit Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage which is the home for about 60 elephants, out of which many are baby elephants, found abandoned or orphaned in the wild. They are being cared, fed and trained by the wild life authorities. The best time to visit is during the feeding times, when one will have the opportunity of seeing the baby elephants being bottle-fed. Also you could accompany the elephants to a river close-by and see the elephants having their daily bath. Continue to Dambulla check in at hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02 – Sigiriya / Sigiriya Rock / Polonnaruwa / Damblla

Breakfast at Hotel. This morning leave for Sigiriya in the north central province of Sri Lanka.. Enroute visit Sigiriya and explore the 5th century Sigiriya Rock fortress which is a world heritage site, built by King Kashapa (477-495 AD). The 'Lion Rock' is a citadel of unusual beauty rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The rock was the innermost stronghold of the 70 hectare fortified town. A moat, rampart, and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens ring the base of the rock. Visit the world-renowned frescoes of the 'Heavenly Maidens' of Sigiriya, which are in a sheltered pocket of the rock approached by a spiral stairway. These frescoes are painted in earth pigments on plaster.

On completion, transfer to Polonnaruwa.

Polonnaruwa an ancient capital of Sri Lanka. Do a city tour of Polonnaruwa which was the 2nd capital city of Sri Lanka, built in the 11th and 12th centuries AD, and which is a world heritage site. Here you can see the ruins of the Royal Palace, the Gal Viharaya -where 4 splendid statues of the Buddha in 'Upright', 'Sedentary' and 'Recumbent' postures carved out of rock, the Audience Hall, the Lotus Bath, king Parakramabahu's statue, and the Parakrama Samudraya lake built by King Parakramabahu the great. There are also monuments of famous places of worship such as, the Shiva temple, the Lankathilake, the Watadage, the Galpotha, the Kiri Vehera and the remains of a former temple of the Tooth.

Return to Hotel for Overnight stay.

Day 03 – Dambulla / Dambulla Cave Temple / Matale / Kandy Temple and Cultural Show / Kandy

After breakfast visit the Dambulla rock temple which was built by king Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. and it is a World Heritage Site. It is the most impressive of Sri Lanka's cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. metres of painted walls and ceilings, is the largest area of paintings found in the world. It contains over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 metres.

Stop at a spice garden at Matale .Finally proceed to Kandy Kandy a city set in the hills around an artificial lake , is probably the most charming city in Sri Lanka and is a part of the cultural triangle and the last capital of Sinhala Kings before Sri Lanka was conquered by the British.

At 17:30 hrs you will enjoy the Cultural show and later visit the Temple of the Tooth popularly known Return to hotel for overnight stay

Day 04 – Kandy / Peradeniya Botanical Garden / Tea Factory / NuwaraEliya Sightseeing Tour / Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast visit the Royal Botanical l Gardens at Peradeniya on the banks of the Sri Lanka's longest river and see its magnificent Orchid House and the grove of splendid trees all planted by eminent world figures leave for Nuwara Eliya, en route visiting a Tea Plantation and a Factory. Nuwara Eliya also known as 'Little England" is the location for one of the finest 18 holes Golf Courses in Asia. Sri Lanka's highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 ft) is located here – check in at Hotel.

In the evening visit Sita Amman Temple of Ramayana Legend. Overnight stay at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 05 – NuwaraEliya / Yala National Park / Yala

After breakfast leave proceed to Yala via Ella Wellawaya and view the breathtaking Ella Gap and the beautiful Ravana Falls.Continue to Yala. In the afternoon take a jeep safari in the Yala National Park by private jeep accompanied by a tracker Yala National park one of Sri Lanka's premier eco tourist destinations and is renowned for its variety of wildlife notably its many elephants. It is also home to the spotted deer, sambar, wild buffalo, sloth bear, jackal, mongoose and crocodiles. The peacock is easily the most famous of the birds in this park. Yala has a high concentration of Leopards although seeing

these nocturnal carnivores still requires some luck. Check in for overnight stay

Day 06 – Yala / Galle Sightseeing / Bentota

Breakfast at hotel . Later check out and leave for Bentota. Continue to Galle , do a city tour, which was once the chief port of Ceylon , as Sri Lanka was named by the British. It is still well known for hand-made lace. You can also visit the Galle Fort (spanning 90 acres), which was originally built by the Portuguese and later extended by the Dutch in 1663 which is a world heritage site. Check in at your beach hotel for overnight stay.

Day 07 - Bentota / Colombo Sightseeing / Colombo

Breakfast at hotel and leave for Colombo enroute sightseeing tour in Colombo, like many capital cities in developing countries is fast changing its face. Almost overnight, skyscrapers arise from where old buildings once stood. Yet in some parts, the old world charm is retained. For example, there is a 100- year-old clock tower and several British built colonial Buildings. Other places of interest are the Pettah bazaar - where one can shop for bargain, a Hindu and a Buddhist temple, residential areas where you find the stately homes of the affluent, the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall.

Time for shopping.

Day 08 – Departure Transfer Airport / Colombo

Breakfast at hotel and transfer to airport.
